Domestic return-to-base parts cover

Arcade Geeks 5-Year Parts Warranty

Five years of parts protection for qualifying new Arcade Geeks machines used privately within mainland UK.

Year 1 manufacturer’s warranty Years 2–5 extended promotional warranty Parts-only RTB cover

How the cover works

One warranty period, two stages

The advertised five-year domestic warranty consists of a one-year manufacturer’s warranty followed by a four-year extended promotional warranty. It is a return-to-base parts warranty, not an onsite repair, labour or callout service.

Year 1

Manufacturer’s warranty

Qualifying manufacturing faults affecting covered components are assessed under the first-year warranty terms.

Years 2–5

Extended promotional warranty

Qualifying domestic customers continue to receive parts-only RTB protection, subject to every condition and exclusion on this page.

Who qualifies

Domestic eligibility

New Arcade Geeks machines

The promotional warranty applies only to qualifying new machines purchased directly from Arcade Geeks. Proof of purchase is required for every claim.

Private domestic use

The machine must be used solely in a private domestic setting within mainland UK. Commercial, organisational, educational, hospitality, public-access, workplace and rental use are excluded.

Original purchaser only

The warranty is non-transferable. We may verify the purchaser’s identity, order information, delivery details, address and ownership before processing a claim.

Return to base

Warranty claim process

  1. 1

    Contact us first

Email your order number, proof of purchase, a precise fault description and clear photographs or video. Do not return or alter anything without written instructions.

  2. 2

    Complete diagnostics

Customers must follow all reasonable troubleshooting steps. We may request system information, additional evidence, remote checks or inspection before approving a claim.

  3. 3

    Return the requested part

Faulty components must be returned before a replacement is issued unless we agree otherwise in writing. For a claim made solely under this voluntary warranty, the customer pays return postage and should use a tracked service. This does not apply where applicable law requires us to bear return costs under a statutory remedy.

  4. 4

    Inspection and decision

We will test the returned component. Additional charges may apply for specialist labour, diagnostics, software configuration, callouts or faults unrelated to a manufacturing defect.

  5. 5

    Approved replacement

A replacement may be new or professionally refurbished and inherits the original component’s remaining warranty period. Arcade Geeks covers outbound postage for an approved replacement part.

Return of replaced components

Once a replacement component is supplied under this warranty, the replaced original component becomes the property of Arcade Geeks. Where a replacement is supplied in advance, the original component must be returned within 14 days. Failure to return it may result in a charge equal to the replacement cost.

Do not alter the machine

Unauthorised changes and tampering

Every machine is supplied configured and tested to its agreed specification. Unless Arcade Geeks instructs you in writing, do not open, disconnect, rewire, replace, reassign, reconfigure, repair or alter its hardware, wiring, USB devices, controls, software, emulators, firmware, BIOS, operating system or internal components.

Examples of unauthorised changes

  • Moving USB devices from their configured ports
  • Remapping controls, gamepads or light guns
  • Opening the cabinet or altering internal wiring
  • Replacing buttons, joysticks, lighting or hardware
  • Installing, deleting or changing games, drivers or emulators
  • Changing firmware, BIOS, backend or operating-system settings

Effect on cover

An unauthorised change may void warranty cover for the affected component, any related fault and resulting damage.

Where unauthorised modification, tampering, misuse or third-party intervention caused or contributed to the issue, we may decline the claim or charge for inspection, diagnostics, labour, parts, reconfiguration, collection, delivery or callout costs.

Any goodwill advice, paid repair or reconfiguration assistance is discretionary. It does not reinstate voided cover or create any future warranty obligation.

Outside warranty cover

What is not covered

  • Misuse, neglect, tampering, unauthorised modification or repair
  • Customer changes to hardware, wiring, USB devices, software, controls or backend configuration
  • Damp, mould, corrosion, flood, fire, heat, smoke, pests or other environmental damage
  • Power surges, unstable supply, voltage fluctuations or extension-lead issues
  • Cosmetic wear, consumables, fuses, plugs, cables and batteries
  • Software, emulator configuration, BIOS, compatibility issues and third-party accessories
  • Commercial, organisational, educational, hospitality, public-access, workplace or rental use
  • Damp, dusty or unventilated placement, including garages, sheds and outdoor environments
  • Impact, movement, transportation, relocation or excessive force after delivery
  • Damage during third-party transportation or relocation
  • Normal wear and tear from prolonged or excessive use
  • Any fault unrelated to a manufacturing defect
Multi-game systems

Because systems can include thousands of games and emulator variations, a small number of titles may not function exactly as expected. This is normal for multi-game systems and does not constitute a hardware fault.

Damage on arrival

Report delivery issues promptly

Report visible damage within 48 hours

Email clear photographs of the machine, every side of the packaging, internal packaging, visible damage and legible shipping labels. Retain all packaging while the claim is assessed. Delayed reporting, missing packaging or incomplete evidence may affect our ability to establish transit damage and the outcome of the claim.

Business and public use

Commercial machines are excluded

The complimentary five-year domestic warranty applies only where the original purchaser acquires and uses the machine wholly or mainly for private domestic purposes. It does not apply to machines bought for or used in a business, organisation, school, hospitality venue, workplace, entertainment venue, public-access area, arcade or rental operation. An invoice or delivery address connected with a business may be considered as evidence of commercial use but is not conclusive where genuine private domestic use was confirmed before dispatch.

Commercial and B2B machines are supplied without a complimentary warranty unless separate cover was expressly agreed in writing at the time of purchase. Any goodwill assistance is discretionary and does not create an ongoing warranty or service obligation. An optional 12-month commercial service and support plan may be available at additional cost.

Promotional warranty

The four-year extension is a promotional benefit. Arcade Geeks may amend or withdraw the offer for future purchases. Any change will not retrospectively remove cover already contractually provided for an eligible existing purchase.

Promotional warranties and offers cannot be combined unless expressly stated.

Governing law

These warranty terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights a consumer has under the law applicable where they live. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
